Madagascar 2: Escape Africa is the upcoming 2008 sequel to the 2005 film, Madagascar. It is in production by DreamWorks Animation and is scheduled to be released on November 7, 2008. The film will be distributed by Paramount Pictures. It has been confirmed that the film will be about the animals starting the plane on Madagascar, and then landing in mainland Africa, and meeting some of Alex's family. The film stars the voices of Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Jada Pinkett Smith, David Schwimmer, Sacha Baron Cohen, Bernie Mac, Cedric the Entertainer, and Andy Richter. Also guest voicing includes Alec Baldwin, Will.i.am, Bernie Mac, Sherri Shepherd, and Patton Oswalt. Tiny Lister is also rumored to appear. The previous title was "Madagascar: The Crate Escape", which was featured on a trailer with Ben Stiller. The film is rated PG for some mild crude humor. It is the final film to star Bernie Mac, to whom it is dedicated because of his untimely death before the it could be completed.
